Our Sunday

We had a simple breakfast at the cafe nearby. After that hubby and the boy stayed home as the part time helper is coming over today. I brought Jia Jia with me to get their new milk bottles and then went to buy some plants at the nursery.

Since weather is good today, a bit cloudy, we decided to go swimming at the KRP. The kids are all gear up before jumping into the children pool. Most important, mommy get a chance to exercise while hubby watching over the kids.

I was quite tired after a good swim. Errr....maybe just too long didn't go for exercise.

Both of them are very tired, I guess, because their are still sleeping next to me while I was typing this post.

Nursery at 17 months?

Hubby and I plan to send the boy to nursery for half a day. We would like him to spend like 2-3 hours there to be around with other kids, while at the same time try to be taking care by other caregiver. On other hand, I am just not sure whether it is the right time to send him there or just delayed until he’s at the age of 2.

What do you think, mommies?

Thought of the Day

Hubby’s company has some major changes due to the economic downturn. As everyone says, securing a job is very important right now. Looking at the bad time nowadays, yet everything needs money and living costs are getting more expensive, life is getting more difficult.

Medical is one of the most important aspect nowdays and the cost is getting more expensive. Still remembered those days while we were in Cambodia, the company doesn't provide any medical benefits and we have to scoop out every single cents from our own pocket. I remembered that I spent almost USD85-90 for every visit to a Singporean MO while I was pregnant. It was even more expensive when I had pregnancy complication and was admitted to the Cambodian local French Hospital as foreigner was charged double.

He is now working fora company that provides a very good employees’ benefits. It covers almost everything from medical for whole family , kids’ preschool fees, dentist and optical subsidies etc etc....... to the extent of covering the maternity bill. During my second pregnancy, I had received lots of treatment and was in-out hospital for few times and these were all covered by the company. If we're to pay all those bills, I guess it would be a huge sum!

I am just hoping that hubby will be able to attach with his company until his retirement age.

What are our plans for the long weekend.........

Next week will be Gawai Celebration here and hubby’s company is having a week long break. Coincidently, my girl is on school holiday as well. We did not travel back to KL. Sooo………what are we going to do here? Hmmm…..not Bintang Mall….Boulevard or Imperial………..(my daughter always says this..."mummy, Parkson? Not again.......") or maybe ask hubby to drive down to KB, Brunei for sushi treats??Hehehe.... Let’s see.

I was extremely tired last night…maybe participating “too actively” in my girl sports day yesterday and went into my slumber land quite early. So, I woke up around 4am+ this morning. So, since couldn’t get back to sleep, I’ll just go downstairs, turn on the Astro AFC channel and folding my clothes. A whole basket of clothes which I have accumulated over the past 2 days. Tell you, the thing I hate to do is washing and folding clothes. I would prefer cooking instead of folding the clothes, just don’t know why… Hubby offered to help but I have turned him down because I just don’t like the way the clothes being folded. Fussy woman, right? Yes, I know,I know… I am quite fussy sometimes…plus long winded…….

Jia Jia's Sports Day

Yesterday was the last day school before entering their mid term school holidays. It was also her school Sports Day. The school organized it at the garden nearby. Every year, they would just combining and having the Taska and Tadika Sports Day together.

Well, my girl is much better this year compared to last year, at least, she did not hold the spoon and ran to me instead of dropping the spoon into the baskets in front of their teachers.

She looks a bit reserved when queuing up, maybe she was curious seeing many parents around, I guess?! Once she got “warm up”, she participate more actively.

Serious looking face...........maybe this sleepy head is still sleepy

Giving me a stylo-mylo post.......

She received two medals in the running events.

Hubby has taken a day off to join the girl and not forgetting di-di (younger brother)also giving his support to his cheh-cheh (elder sister).

Jia Jia was holding her di-di and introduce him to her class teacher, saying “ Ms. Stephanie, this is my brother, How How”……she looks proud when showing off her di-di.

Playmates in the evenings

Our neighbour is a Indonesian expatriate who is working with a Japanese oil company here. My girl likes to play with them and on most of the evenings, they will be playing and cycling at our backyard.
They will most likely moving to Brunei after Hari Raya holiday. I am sure my girl will surely miss her little friends after they've moved.
Jia Jia, they are your first friends that you've made even before you enter your pre-school.

They're having fun.......

Here's another fun time for the kids in the afternoon today. When people see this, they might think that I am just a crazy mommy, letting the kids play with the water.
I am suppose to wash the car pouch and watering the plants. Since no extra hand to keep them in the house, well, just bring them out and let them running around and this is what they have ended up.......

Supplement

I am kind of a kiasu mom. In order to make sure that my kids are getting enough vitamins and nutrient and am giving them additional supplements.

These are the 3 types of supplements that I am giving them on alternate days. My girl likes the Kawai M400 most. She says that is "jelly beans" and refers the colostrum tablets as "nen nen vitamin"!

Quick Fix Lunch

I have been cracking my head to think of something for my kids' meal this afternoon and was really run out of idea. Hence, come out with this simple, ready-to-cook San Remo La Pasta Sour Cream & Chives. I have added a slice of cheese and 2 tablespoon of butter. Put in some spinach and slices of fish fillet. Once is is done, put on some extra cheese to make it "oh-so-cheesy" taste.

Here you go:-

And two of them can finish the whole plate each.

Our Sunday

We didn't go out last Sunday. Miri is a small town and you'll be like going the same place every weekend. It's BORING! So, if we plan something "extraordinary", then, it must be going down to Brunei to visit my brother. Normally, we'll drop by Kuala Belait (about an hour from Miri) to enjoy the Japanese food. Most of the people here will definitely heading to Escapade if they would like to eat sushi and other Japanese food.

We didn't go swimming either as the weather is not that good. So, I have made a nice breakfast for my hubby as he can take care of the kids while I cook. Here's what we had for breakfast last Sunday.....

Swiss sausage served with broiled vegetable (sprinkle with some Oregano leaves) and mustard.

Brown bread served with tuna and baked beans (hubby's favourite!)

These has been our heavy breakfast and we're stuffed until 3pm and went to the Pelita to have our favourite Rojak!

One Month Has Passed..........

Yes, it has been a month since our maid left. Things going on quite well and 24-hours a day doesn't seem enough for me. By the time I put the kids to sleep, I might fall asleep as well. Unlike previously, I will creep down and enjoy some "ME" time surfing net, reading blogs while watching my favourite channel, Discovery Home & Health.

Today's weather is hot. Kids like to run around the house without any clothes on if the weather is hot. Hubby turn on the air conditioner and they are enjoying the fun time.

Both of them eating a banana and the girl is complaining that the boy has a big bite of her fruit.
